The bad... WebI've lowered mine about 1/4 inch but only after finding the ride height a bit high after installing PB XL's. I'm running beef patties, tubes and SSD weights up front and it's very stable now (Oh and CI comp cut foam, soft fr./medium rr.)

WebNov 24, 2006 · The answer depends on if you want more up-travel or more down-travel. For competition crawling, most people run about 5" of uptravel on a 14" shock. We've found that too much more pressure than what it takes to get about 5" of shaft showing really ramps up the spring-rate curve.

It's not uncommon to see bumpstops at 1-3" above the axle.
