For a ketch it is as above with the Mizzen and the mizzen staysail free projected area, ie the area not blanketed in the side view by the other sails, some alos add an allowance for other light air sails but I think this is better left out.

WebJun 30, 2004 · No mizzen at all. If three masted or more but with the aft most mast smaller than the main, then that aft most mast might be called a mizzen and the sail either a mizzen or spanker. With ketches and yawls you get mizzen staysails all the time - usually nylon kites that do not have their own permanent stay and lovely off the wind.
